third time's the charm

We went to the doctor on Friday to find out if the boys are going to have a little brother or a little sister.  The appointment was scheduled in the afternoon so we could get the boys out of school and take them with us.  We were all anxious to find out if our new little is a boy or girl.  The anatomy scan went well, and the boys, Isaac especially, really liked seeing the heart beating and the spine on the screen.  It was so neat to see all of those images again.  At the end of the scan she told us the gender of our baby.  Isaac and Alex are going to have a little SISTER.  They were so excited!  I was excited too, and a little shocked, really!  Clarence didn't have much of a response.  I think he's excited and shocked too.  And nervous.  He is going to be so protective of his little girl.

So, I guess the third time is the charm for having a little girl.  Now our family is complete. (it still would have been had she been a boy, by the way)

On Saturday Isaac had his baseball evaluations.  So after that we went to Academy to get the rest of the stuff he needs for practice and got Alex a new pair of shoes too.

Alex's new shoes. They are bright red!

Isaac picked out his glove

Isaac also chose his own baseball cleats.

The baseball draft is this Saturday and then his practices will start next week.  I think he is excited to play baseball, and I am really excited to see him play!

little # 3 this week

This week our little one is the size of a mango.  I am feeling pretty good these days.  Well, most of the time I am; I have my moments.  I have been feeling him/her move a lot these days, and I am really looking forward to seeing him/her again next Friday!  Hopefully, we'll also know whether the boys will be having a little brother or sister.  I am so excited that I can hardly wait!

Isaac's regular season for basketball ends tomorrow.  Then, we should find out what day he will play in the playoffs.  I am not exactly excited that he will be playing a playoff game on a school night, but you do what you have to do!  Next Saturday he goes for his baseball evaluation and we have a family birthday to celebrate, so it's going to be a busy weekend!  Especially if he makes it to the final rounds of the playoffs that will also be held next Saturday.

Blue Raiders

Yesterday Isaac's team won their third game.  Now their record is 3 and 5, not the best, but they are definitely showing improvement.  I thought that next Saturday would be his last game, but it turns out that his team may be in the first round of the playoffs.  That would be so much fun!

Isaac's team is called the Blue Raiders and his number is 10.

This is what Alex was doing while Isaac was playing

Isaac's cousins, Jaylen and Donevyn came to his game this week.

makes me wonder if he would be a good gymnast

After Isaac's game we took the boys to see the MTSU Blue Raiders Men's basketball team play.  It was our first time to see them play, and it was so much fun!  Not much of a competition though since MTSU won by over 50 points.

6 more to go

I haven't officially posted this or announced it anywhere, but we're expecting another baby in July.  We were surprised to find out that I am, in fact, pregnant again.  After going through positive pregnancy tests, and nothing on the ultrasound screen, we were beginning to think that our two boys would be our only two children.  And, that would have been ok; I had come to the realization that having two healthy boys was quite a blessing in itself.  Just when I had quit thinking about it all the time, we saw another positive pregnancy test.  I was skeptical until our first ultrasound, and I was so relieved to see a heartbeat on the ultrasound screen.  We had another ultrasound at 12 weeks because my doc couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler.  It was amazing to see how much our little had grown in just 4 weeks.  We got to hear the heartbeat for the first time, and it was just as awesome as hearing Isaac's for the first time 10 years ago.  We went for my 16 week check-up yesterday, and everything sounded good.  Another listen at our little's strong heartbeat.  My worry has started to subside, and the excitement of welcoming another child into our family is taking over.  We will find out in 4 weeks whether our little is a boy or girl.  The boys, and most of our family, I think, want this little to be a girl.  Above all though, we want this to be a healthy baby, regardless.  I had quite a bit of nausea the first 12 weeks, but that is gone for the most part now, and I feel good.  The boys were so excited to find out that they are going to have a little brother or sister, and Isaac asks me questions all the time.  The best one so far has been, "Mom, is your stomach just going to keep getting bigger everyday?".  This third baby has definitely made my stomach grow faster.  But, so far, no weight gained.

A few weeks ago we went to D & B's for the first time to celebrate Aunt B's fiance's birthday.  The boys had a great time, even though the place was really crowded.

Isaac's basketball skills have really been improving.  It is so much fun to watch his team play.  They are getting into a rhythm of playing together.  The season has 3 more games, and then his first season at baseball will start up.  He went to the batting cage with his Aunt B, who played college softball, and she gave him first lesson in batting.  He did so well and listened to what she taught him.  I can't wait to see him play.

Alex wants to play spring soccer, but I just don't think we'll be able to do it with Isaac playing baseball.  He will have so many games, and the soccer fields aren't anywhere near where Isaac will be playing.  So, he agreed that he could wait until fall to play soccer when Isaac plays soccer.
Last weekend, my mother and I traveled to Huntsville, Alabama for the Dirt Road Diaries tour with Florida Georgia Line, Thompson Square and Luke Bryan.  The drive was quick and easy, and the show was awesome.  It was so much fun to spend time with my mother.  I really enjoy going to concerts with her.  Our next one to look forward to is CMA Fest in June.  Although I'll be 35 weeks pregnant by then, I am still really looking forward it.

Coming up in the next few weeks are a MTSU men's basketball game, baseball evaluations, and the beginning of the baseball season.  Things are going to stay busy right up until our little arrives in July.  And, I'm so glad; it wouldn't be our life if it wasn't busy.

be merry

This Christmas has come and gone already.  It seems like just yesterday that it was December 1st.  We have been busy lately.  Isaac started playing basketball and his first game was December 1st.  Thankfully he has a couple of weeks off for Christmas and New Year's, so his next game isn't until January 5th.  The team hasn't had much luck at winning yet, but they are having fun and getting better.

The boys are out of school until January 7th.  That's two and a half weeks out of school for Winter Break.  A long time if you ask me.  Anyway, I took this week off work and won't be going back until January 2nd.  So, at least the boys only have to go to Fun Company a few days.  They're happy about that.  They are having lots of fun playing with all the fun stuff they got for Christmas.
Before school let out for Winter Break, Alex had a Christmas party.  I wasn't able to leave work to attend it, so Alex requested that my parents go instead.  They did of course, and he was so happy.

Our Christmas festivities started last Saturday.  The boys and C went to Chuck E Cheese to exchange gifts with Anna on Saturday morning while I stayed home and wrapped presents.  Then that evening we went to C's mother's house for Christmas.  It was a nice small gathering.
Sunday we didn't go anywhere and that was really nice, especially since C was off work for Christmas Eve.  On Christmas Eve we went to C's dad house and exchanged gifts with all of the cousins.  The boys had a great time and got a lot of great stuff.  We were also invited to my cousin's house on Christmas Eve night, but I decided that I'm not up for rushing through my holidays by running from place to place, so we had to pass on that gathering this year.

On Christmas the boys opened presents here at home and then we went to spend the morning with my parents.  We had a nice time eating, opening presents and spending time with my parents.  I am so thankful for another Christmas with both of them.  After we left my parents' house we went by C's Aunt and Uncle's house so the boys could exchange gifts with their cousins.  The boys got even more good stuff there.  We had to cut our Christmas Day celebrations a little short so C could get enough sleep to be ready for work that night.  But, I'm sure the boys didn't mind because that meant they had plenty of time to play with all of their toys.  They had so much fun, in fact, that they stayed up until 1:00 this morning.  I am so glad to see that they both had a great Christmas and are enjoying all their gifts.

Momma and her Luke Bryan outfit.  We're going to his concert in a couple of weeks.

Despite the look on his face in this picture, this has been one of his most favorite gifts!
