hlm - month 6

I went to the doctor today for my six month check up.  Baby girl and I are doing well.  I drank the glucose drink today and had my blood drawn to check for gestational diabetes.  I didn't have it with either of the boys, but I am fully prepared that it could be different this time around.  I should know in a few days if I passed/failed the test.  In this case, no news is good news.  Dr O. measured me and she's measuring right on track and her heartbeat sounded great, very strong.

Size of HLM:
She's the size of a cantaloupe

Total Weight Gain:

5 lbs

Maternity Clothes:

To work - a combination of some non-maternity shirts and maternity shirts. Always maternity pants.

On the weekend - a combination of some non-maternity shirts and maternity shirts and non-maternity pants with stretchy waistbands.

Gender:
GIRL

Movement:
She moves all the time, but I have started to notice a pattern to what time of day she is most active.  I think I'm going to start documenting it so I can compare it to when she's awake after she's born.  Now others can feel and see her move when watching my stomach.

What I Miss:
Nothing

Cravings:
Fruit popsicles and ice cream

Symptoms:
After sitting for long periods of time at work, I've noticed some pain in my left hip.  Minor swelling in my feet in the evenings.  My appetite is getting better.

Best Moment of the Week:
Seeing her move instead of just feeling it.  Getting the dates and times nailed down for the baby showers that our family and friends are hosting.

What I'm Looking Forward To:
Her baby showers and seeing our friends and family, the 3D/4D ultrasound and family pictures

third time's the charm

We went to the doctor on Friday to find out if the boys are going to have a little brother or a little sister.  The appointment was scheduled in the afternoon so we could get the boys out of school and take them with us.  We were all anxious to find out if our new little is a boy or girl.  The anatomy scan went well, and the boys, Isaac especially, really liked seeing the heart beating and the spine on the screen.  It was so neat to see all of those images again.  At the end of the scan she told us the gender of our baby.  Isaac and Alex are going to have a little SISTER.  They were so excited!  I was excited too, and a little shocked, really!  Clarence didn't have much of a response.  I think he's excited and shocked too.  And nervous.  He is going to be so protective of his little girl.

So, I guess the third time is the charm for having a little girl.  Now our family is complete. (it still would have been had she been a boy, by the way)

On Saturday Isaac had his baseball evaluations.  So after that we went to Academy to get the rest of the stuff he needs for practice and got Alex a new pair of shoes too.

Alex's new shoes. They are bright red!

Isaac picked out his glove

Isaac also chose his own baseball cleats.

The baseball draft is this Saturday and then his practices will start next week.  I think he is excited to play baseball, and I am really excited to see him play!

little # 3 this week

This week our little one is the size of a mango.  I am feeling pretty good these days.  Well, most of the time I am; I have my moments.  I have been feeling him/her move a lot these days, and I am really looking forward to seeing him/her again next Friday!  Hopefully, we'll also know whether the boys will be having a little brother or sister.  I am so excited that I can hardly wait!

Isaac's regular season for basketball ends tomorrow.  Then, we should find out what day he will play in the playoffs.  I am not exactly excited that he will be playing a playoff game on a school night, but you do what you have to do!  Next Saturday he goes for his baseball evaluation and we have a family birthday to celebrate, so it's going to be a busy weekend!  Especially if he makes it to the final rounds of the playoffs that will also be held next Saturday.

Blue Raiders

Yesterday Isaac's team won their third game.  Now their record is 3 and 5, not the best, but they are definitely showing improvement.  I thought that next Saturday would be his last game, but it turns out that his team may be in the first round of the playoffs.  That would be so much fun!

Isaac's team is called the Blue Raiders and his number is 10.

This is what Alex was doing while Isaac was playing

Isaac's cousins, Jaylen and Donevyn came to his game this week.

makes me wonder if he would be a good gymnast

After Isaac's game we took the boys to see the MTSU Blue Raiders Men's basketball team play.  It was our first time to see them play, and it was so much fun!  Not much of a competition though since MTSU won by over 50 points.
