Things are looking up

Well, my husband has not found a new job, but things are still looking up. He has decided to go back to school. He is enrolled in a program at NADC that upon graduation will allow him the certifications to get a really nice job. He is very happy about it, and he is doing very well. I am very excited for him and very proud. While he is in school though... things will be different around here. He goes to school during the day and has to study most nights after I get home from work. So, it has left me with most of the household chores, but I don't mind. He kept Isaac while I was in graduate school, so it's time I return the favor.

Things are a bit awkward right now with school. We have had some behavior issues with Isaac that the school felt like needed to be addressed. So, to appease them and making sure for our own piece of mind, we took him to the doctor yesterday to have him evaluated. The conclusion from the doctor is that he really doesn't have any major behavior issues. He has some minor ones that can be resolved with counseling. His doctor said we should also look at how well Isaac is resting. He sleeps a significant length of time each night, between 10 and 12 hours. However, he still feels sleepy in the morning. So the doctor prescribed melatonin, a vitamin that promotes a more restful sleep. Last night was the first night we tried it, and he slept very well. He didn't toss and turn, and he said he felt rested this morning. My husband took some too, and he said it worked wonders for him as well. We will also have a sleep test done on Isaac to find out if there are any issues that we are unaware of. We feel like the overtiredness may be what has been causing Isaac to be irritable at school, and has caused him to get into trouble. For now, I feel like we have a conclusion and a plan of action. Let's hope it's enough to keep him where we want him to be. The school mentioned if we couldn't get Isaac's misbehavior under control, then maybe DL isn't the place for him. As frustrating and irritating as that statement was to me, I have learned to deal with it. I just want a decision to be made so we can move on with Isaac's education whether it be at DL or somewhere else.

If anyone reads my blog and has some advice, I'm all ears!

On a happy note, tomorrow is the Mother's day luncheon at school, and I am SO excited to see what they have planned for all the mommies!

Happy Early Mother's Day to all the Mommies out there!
