Happy Birthday Austin!

On Sunday we went to a birthday party for Austin. He is our friends' Kelli and Steve's oldest son. The party was at Pinkerton Park in Franklin. The boys had never been there before, and they had a great time. Here are some pictures of the afternoon.

Music City BBQ Festival

We went to the inaugural Music City BBQ festival yesterday afternoon. There were a lot of groups barbequing, but we were disappointed at how difficult it was to find anyone who would let you sample their barbeque or anyone who was selling it! The highlight of the afternoon was listening to the band play and watching the boys play in the grass.

the boys played on this pirate ship for a while...

one of the best things about this festival is that part of the proceeds went to the Shriner's Children's Hospital

Before and After

We recently decided to replace the floor in the boys' bedroom. Thanks to Granny and Granddaddy Parker, we were able to get it done very quickly. Clarence and my Daddy put the floor in this morning and it looks great! Here are the before and after pictures.

Clarence ripped up the carpet in their room, so this is just the concrete floor

Catching up

I realized today that I never posted pictures of our friend Reigen's wedding and baby shower. Reigen and Ken were married on July 31st, and her baby shower was the following day. Talk about a busy weekend! Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Ken and Reigen looked amazing! The wedding was absolutely beautiful!

Isaac's 1st day of 1st grade

I wasn't sure how this morning would end up with Isaac going to a new school... BUT, it turned out great! Isaac was so excited about his new school, and he didn't complain a bit about having to get up early and go to school. He remembered most of how to find his new classroom and followed Ms. Guisinger's directions about what to do with his things very well. I am so proud of him! However, Alex wasn't very happy about not being able to go to school with Isaac. They have spent the whole summer together, and I think he missed him not going to Mimi's with him this morning. Here are some pictures I took along the way this morning. Another milestone... Isaac is now a first grader! Time is going by too quickly!

So proud - he chose what to wear

My little boy is not so little anymore...

Alex was so excited! He wanted so badly to go to school with Isaac.

A big hug started the day off well!

Sitting at his desk - such a big boy!

Back to school time of year means pictures of the boys

So, it seems that we may have started a tradition to take pictures every year before school starts. Here are some of the ones we took this past Monday. Isaac will be starting the 1st grade at his new school, and Alex is still hanging out with all his friend at Mimi's house (his babysitter).

Isaac still wasn't feeling too great from the tonsillectomy

90 plus degrees or not, Alex was still going to wear his Batman mask!
