Where did October go?!

It seems like school just started back yesterday, and it's already the end of October. Just a few more days, and it will be time for Trick-or-Treating! Before we have time to slow down much, it will be Alex's birthday, then Thankgiving, then Christmas! Time flies waaayyy too fast sometimes! But, I guess when you have busy weekends like ours was this weekend, that's to be expected. We spent some time with Nana and Pops this past Saturday. We went to Ghouls at Grassmere with them on Saturday evening, and the boys had a great time. Then on Sunday, after breakfast with my parents, we went to Honeysuckle Hill Farm with Grammy and Grampy. The boys had a great time there too. It was a jam packed fall weekend and a great ending to fall break.

Ghosts of Halloween Past

I have been doing a lot of reminiscing lately, so I decided to post pictures of past Halloweens.

Halloween 2004 - Isaac as a monkey

Halloween 2005 - Isaac as a dalmatian

Halloween 2006 - Isaac as Lightning McQueen

Halloween 2006 - Alex's 1st Halloween
dressed like a lion

Halloween 2007 - Isaac as Iron Man and Alex as Batman
And for the missing Halloween... of 2008, both of the boys were Spiderman. Alex was the red one, and Isaac was the black one. Not sure why I couldn't find those pictures...

Halloween 2009 - Isaac as Snake Eyes from GI Joe and Alex as Optimus Prime from Transformers
This year's costumes won't be too much of surprise since I have two boys... But, you'll have to wait until Halloween to find out what they are! :)

Our weekend

Since Clarence didn't have to work this past Saturday, we had a fun day hanging out with Daddy. After Daddy slept late and I cleaned up the house and did some laundry, we decided to go get some lunch.

At Sub Stop for lunch

After lunch, we (the boys) decided that we needed some Halloween decorations for the house. We visited Kelli and Steve's house on Friday night, and after seeing their decorations, the boys decided that our house had to have some too. But, on the way, we noticed that the dam had all four gates open, so we took the boys by there to see it.

The boys looking at all those rocks... and yes, we let them throw some!

Stayed tuned for some pictures of our Halloween decorations! I have thoughts for a Halloween post... :)

Happy Birthday Lucas!

This past Saturday was the boys' cousin, Lucas' 6th birthday. Lucas' party was at Chuck E Cheese. What better place for children and parents alike to have fun! It is a great place to hang out, play, eat pizza and cake and open presents!

Now that Lucas' party has passed, Alex's is the next one for our family. I can hardly believe Alex will be five in less than a month! But before we get to celebrate Alex's birthday, we have to make it through Halloween without Daddy. Clarence will be gone to Las Vegas for work for 9 days at the end of October, first of November, and let me just say, I am definitely not looking for to it! I know he is so excited and I am proud of him for being given the opportunity to go, but we are really going to miss him!
Happy Monday!!!!

October is here and fall is in the air

The weekend is already over. :( Clarence worked all day again this Saturday on the car that his boss and he are taking to the SEMA show in Las Vegas. So, Saturday morning I took the boys to C's aunt and uncle's house so I could walk in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk. I have tried to participate in this walk every year since my father had his massive heart attack eight years ago. I am so thankful that my father survived his attack and has recovered so well from the open heart surgery. So to honor all the survivors and those who unfortunately did not, I walk.

The sea of blue shirts are the walkers from Centennial
But before Saturday, on Friday night we also had fun taking the boys to Isaac's fall festival at school. It is a fun time full of games, face painting, food and a haunted house. Here are a couple of pictures of Isaac at the festival. I didn't get any of Alex because he stayed with his Daddy so he could go and do what he wanted while Isaac and I went where he wanted to go. Divide and conquer! :)
I told Isaac to make a scary face, and this is what I got

Isaac enjoying his cotton candy. The first thing he wanted to do was have his hair spray painted, hence the bronze, goldish hair. In addition to the cotton candy, he had a hotdog and a piece of pizza. Oh, our junk food kid!
I hope everyone had a great weekend and that you've been enjoying this beautiful, cooler weather!
